That was the sum of how my night went last night, I am glad that I stayed smart with my Starbucks drink choice but I am not pleased with the amount of sugar cravings that I am experiencing today because of that drink. That one pump of artificial syrup totally sent my body into overdrive on how much it wants to devour a whole cake but I need to stay strong and fight through this phase since I just need to wait until the "fake sugar" is out of my body again. The reason why diets fail is because we justify that bad thing we just put into our body and then we follow up with "Well I already ruined my diet for the day, so I might as well eat whatever I want now." This is the flaw, never let yourself fall into your own self destruction. Whenever you have these doubts then just remember to remind yourself why your doing this and what your ultimate goal is.
As far as my meals went, these past two days, it was pretty good but like I said now its tough cause im dealing with cravings. On day eight I have some muesli with some Greek yogurt and black coffee, for lunch I had tuna salad with Greek yogurt, onions, mustard/hotsauce, purple cabbage, and some goat cheese on top.
For dinner that night I sautéed a chicken breast and cooked up some broccoli with fetta cheese.
For day nine I had a cup of Greek yogurt with cinnamon for breakfast, I then made protein pancakes for lunch, and I made sautéed mushrooms with cabbage and broccoli for dinner. Week two is going by pretty fast and hopefully I'll get my secret package in the mail tomorrow, take care everyone.

Thank you so much for posting this! This time of year I always always give in to the trick-or-treat candy, and family dinners and I can see the pounds stacking on. Keeping a snack pack with healthier options will definitely help me say no!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! Just remember to keep a positive mind and it is always allowed to have some cheat days during the holidays, you just have to save your cheat days for the main holiday event/day and stay strong by avoiding the treats until then. :)
DeleteI agree, it sure is tough to say no to Pumpkin crack. I had never considered the syrup. Thanks for bringing that up because now I have something to play with. I have been wanting to play around with roasting some pumpkins and doing some cheesecake, or granola, or my personal favorite, pumpkin flan.
ReplyDeleteNow that you reminded me about the syrup I can make some salad dressings, coffee's, tea's, marinades, and who knows what else.
I used to roast a dozen or so pumpkins and freeze the flesh, now I can try the syrup and see if that inspires me? Thanks again, who would have thought there was pumpkin syrup?
Wow that sounds great, I never thought to cook the actual pumpkin into things. I am kinda inept when it comes to cooking with pumpkin, but hearing you talk about it has inspired me to try some pumpkin recipes.
DeleteThere is nothing like a roasted pumpkin. Your sugar intake will go up, I must warn you. If your keeping track, you will want to research what and how the sweet, baking pumpkins have per pound.
ReplyDeleteIf you have never done a pumpkin, start with other things. Spaghetti squash, Acorn squash, even red-beets and a little balsamic. This is my favorite time of year, I am cooking or baking something every week. I just made a one-week tomato sauce and a peach-bread pudding.
